✨ LMIA Approved: A Success Story! ✨

We're thrilled to share a fantastic LMIA approval! After approximately two months from submission, the LMIA assessment concluded with a positive outcome.

  • Submitted: June 2, 2025
  • Result: July 29, 2025 (Total 2 months)
  • Position: Landscaping Supervisor – NOC 82303
  • Location: Burnaby, BC

This LMIA falls under the High Wage stream. The job offer's hourly wage of $35 exceeded the high wage threshold of $34.62 at the time of submission (June 2, 2025). This successful outcome means the applicant is eligible to apply for a 3-year work permit.

Navigating a Complex LMIA Process

The LMIA assessment process is becoming increasingly stringent. It's crucial to prepare for this assessment from multiple angles throughout the entire application period. This includes:

  • Designing and crafting effective advertisement content.
  • Strategically selecting advertising channels.
  • Thoroughly preparing the LMIA application and anticipating potential officer interviews.

All these elements must be logically consistent and, most importantly, supported by the candidate's career experience and academic background.

For this particular case, GS meticulously reviewed all comprehensive aspects. While it might have seemed demanding to the employer at times, we rigorously secured all necessary evidence. We were confident that these efforts would enable us to overcome the government's elevated standards, and we're delighted with the positive result.

The employer initially felt some discomfort with GS's rigorous approach. However, with the clean approval, we've since received their gratitude and recognition for our hard work.

📢 July 22 Express Entry Draw – Healthcare and Social Service Occupations

On July 22, 2025, another round of Express Entry (EE) invitations was issued. This time, the draw specifically targeted candidates in the Healthcare and Social Service Occupations category.

Key Highlights of This Draw:

  • Cut-off Score: 475
  • Number of ITAs Issued: 4,000

This draw took place just one day after the PNP-specific draw. Notably, this is the third Healthcare-focused draw of the year.

Unlike the previous two Healthcare draws—where only 500 ITAs were issued each time—this round saw a significant increase to 4,000 ITAs, resulting in the cut-off score dropping to 475 points.

As we shared in June, category-based draws, especially for Healthcare occupations, are crucial to watch. With labor shortages in healthcare roles across Canada, we anticipate that similar large-scale invitation rounds could occur in the near future.

At GS Consulting, we are committed to delivering timely and accurate updates on Express Entry and Canadian immigration programs to help you stay informed and prepared.

✨ LMIA Success for Food Service Supervisor in Vancouver, BC✨

After approximately three months of waiting, we have successfully received a positive LMIA result!

This application was filed for a Food Service Supervisor (NOC 62020) position at a restaurant in British Columbia.

Key Details:

  • Submission Date: March 29, 2025
  • Approval Date: July 11, 2025 (Processing Time: 15 weeks)
  • Position: Food Service Supervisor – NOC 62020
  • Location: Vancouver, BC
  • LMIA Stream: High/Low Wage Stream (Low Wage)
  • Offered Wage: $20/hour (Low Wage Stream)
  • Work Permit Validity: 1 year

For Low Wage LMIA applications, the company’s cap on foreign workers and the unemployment rate in the city are critical factors. At the time of submission (March 29), Vancouver’s unemployment rate was 5.9%, making the application eligible.

Why LMIA Applications Are Becoming More Challenging

LMIA assessments are becoming increasingly strict. A successful application requires thorough preparation in every aspect:

  • Careful planning of recruitment advertising
  • Selection of the right advertising platforms
  • Crafting the right job advertisement content
  • Preparing the LMIA application package
  • Anticipating and preparing for possible interviews with the ESDC officer

📢 Express Entry Draw Held on Jul 21

After a two-week hiatus, there was another EE draw. This draw targeted PNP candidates. Here are the key details of this draw:

Date: July 21 (PNP Targeted)

Cut-off Score: 788 points

Number of ITAs Issued: 202

Generally, the months of July and August have been the most active for EE draws. Just last year, in 2024, over 35,000 out of approximately 99,000 total draws occurred in July and August. This is because candidates invited up to June are considered for that year's CAP, while those invited from July onwards are included in the next year's CAP.

Considering that the EE processing time can be as short as three months, with an average of 5-7 months, cases invited in the latter half of the year often obtain their permanent residency the following year. Therefore, more draws tend to occur in the latter half of the year compared to the first half.

The cut-off score remains high. In this situation, GS offers the following advice to those planning to proceed with EE:

1 As mentioned, there is a tendency for more draws in the latter half of the year. Therefore, candidates targeting CEC or specific category-based should cautiously anticipate a drop in the cut-off score and proceed more actively.

2 As you can see, PNP-targeted EE draws continue to occur every two weeks. Hence, it is a good strategy to pay more attention to the PNP and EE linkage programs of each province.

During challenging times, choosing an immigration company and strategizing your immigration plan with them is a crucial investment. We recommend selecting a more meticulous, analytical, and diligent immigration company.

GS Consulting will continue to provide accurate information related to Express Entry and Canadian immigration.
