πŸ“’ Express Entry Draw Held on June 12 – CEC only

Express Entry (EE) selections have been quite active this June. On the 12th, a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) specific draw took place.

πŸ“Œ Key details of this draw are:

  • Cut-off Score: 529 points
  • Number of ITAs Issued: 3,000

This CEC-specific draw happened just one month after the last one on May 13th. The number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued, 3,000, is a significant increaseβ€”six times more than the 500 ITAs issued in May!

The cut-off score remains high at 529 points. However, it feels relatively lower compared to previous draws.

πŸ“’ Express Entry Draw Held on June 4 – Healthcare and Social Workers Category

On June 4, an Express Entry (EE) draw was held, specifically targeting candidates in the Healthcare and Social Service Occupations category.

πŸ“Œ Key details of this draw are as follows:

β€’ βœ… Cut-off score: 504

β€’ βœ… Number of ITAs issued: 500

This draw took place just two days after the PNP-targeted draw on June 2.

It was the second draw for healthcare occupations this year, following the one held on May 2. Interestingly, both draws occurred during the first week of their respective months.

While 1,000 ITAs were issued in the May draw, only half that numberβ€”500β€”were issued this time.

The cut-off score was 504, which is lower than that of recent CEC-targeted draws, but still relatively high.

There is growing curiosity about how many ITAs will be issued this month, which categories will be targeted, what the cut-off scores for CEC candidates will be, and whether a general draw will take place.

πŸ“’ PNPonly Express Entry Draw Held on June 2

On June 2, a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw was conducted through the Express Entry (EE) system.

πŸ“Œ Key highlights of this draw:
β€’
βœ… Cut-off score: 726 points
β€’ βœ… Number of ITAs issued: 277

This was the first EE draw in 20 days, and it targeted PNP candidates. As of today, there have been 9 PNP-specific draws this year, and yesterday’s draw had the lowest number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued among them.

This was also the first draw held since the appointment of the new Immigration Minister. However, it's too early to draw conclusions about the minister’s direction based on this single case. While we are curious about the new direction of the restructured Liberal government and its newly appointed immigration minister, it is expected that the policies announced earlier this year will remain in place. Therefore, it would be wise to take a conservative approach toward permanent residence, work permits, and study permits throughout this year and into the next. This period should be seen as a time to solidify one's foundation and carefully observe immigration trends to discern future directions.

Although PNP draws generally have fewer invitations than other categories, the exceptionally low number of invitations in this draw should be interpreted not as a cause for concern but rather as a potentially positive sign.

The government has already announced its immigration targets for the year. Based on these targets, it is expected that more than 7,000 ITAs should be issued monthly. However, only 2,511 ITAs were issued in May, and just 1,246 in April. With only 277 issued in the first draw of June, we can expect a much more active selection process in the second half of the year, likely focusing more on category-based draws than on PNP alone.

In these challenging times, rather than relying on vague hopes, we assess the situation through analysis. Those aiming for category-based selection are encouraged to proceed more proactively.
