✨ French Is the Ultimate Cheat Code! – Latest Express Entry (EE) Draw Update πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ πŸ“’

The latest round targeted the French Language Proficiency category.

πŸ“Œ Draw Results
• Category: French Language Proficiency
• Cut-off Score: 408
• ITAs Issued: 6,000

πŸ“ˆ What This Means — Overwhelming Preference for French-Speaking Candidates
As of 2025, a total of 42,000 ITAs have been issued under the French category, accounting for 45% of all invitations issued this year.
This makes it the largest category by far, significantly surpassing the next-largest group, the CEC category (26%).

🎯 Eligibility for the French-Language Proficiency Category
• Meet general EE eligibility (CEC, FSW, or FST)
• Achieve NCLC 7 or higher in all four French language skills

🧐 Bottom Line — If You Have Strength in Languages, French Is Your Best Strategy
This year, CRS cut-off scores for French draws have dropped as low as 379, and the most recent draw stood at 408.
In other words, French proficiency has become one of the most powerful factors for securing an EE invitation.

NCLC 7 is not an easy benchmark, of course.
However, if you’ve already maximized points in other categories, focusing on French for one year to reach NCLC 7 could be an excellent strategic investment well worth the effort.

In today’s immigration landscape, it is more important than ever to analyze your situation clearly and build a customized strategy that maximizes your CRS score—whether through French, a PNP pathway, additional education, or career optimization.

πŸ“’ πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Canada Express Entry Latest Draw Update (November 26th)

The latest round of invitations targeted Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates.

πŸ“Œ Draw Results

  • Category: CEC
  • Cut-off Score: 531
  • Number of ITAs Issued: 1,000

πŸ“ˆ Analysis: Lowering Score Trend and the Future of CEC

This draw result carries significant implications beyond mere numbers. It can be interpreted as a positive signal for candidates aspiring to immigrate through the CEC category.

1. Alignment with 2026 Immigration Levels Plan and Increased CEC Focus

  • Government Policy Direction: The Canadian government has clearly indicated its plan to increase the share of economic immigrants starting in 2026, specifically promising to offer more opportunities to In-Canada Candidates.
  • Future Prediction: Consequently, the CEC (Canadian Experience Class) is strongly expected to be the most active stream within Express Entry draws.
  • Current Status: In fact, CEC draws accounted for approximately 28% of all EE draws in 2025, underscoring its importance.

2. Encouraging Decline in Cut-off Score (534 -> 531)

  • Recent Trend Analysis: Reviewing the 6 CEC draws held since August 7th up to today (November 26th) reveals a consistent trend:
    • ITAs Issued: A steady 1,000 ITAs have been issued in each draw.
    • Cut-off Score: The qualifying score has dropped from 534 to 531, a decrease of 3 points.
  • Implication: The drop in the cut-off score under identical draw conditions (1,000 ITAs) suggests a very promising outlook: opportunities are expanding for aspiring candidates.

🧐 Conclusion: Still High, But Strategy is Key to Success

It is true that a cut-off score of 531 remains a very high level. However, if the trend of consistent CEC draws and a gradual decline in the cut-off score continues, it offers a hopeful direction for candidates whose current scores might be slightly lower.

Success in Canadian immigration depends on accurate information and a strategic approach.

It is now more crucial than ever to accurately analyze the current situation and establish an optimal strategy (e.g., Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) linkage, additional education, strategic work experience management) to boost your CRS score based on your personal profile.

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Express Entry Update – November 25 Draw

The latest round of invitations targeted Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.

πŸ“Œ Draw Results

  • Category: PNP
  • Cut-off Score: 699
  • Number of ITAs Issued: 777

πŸ“ˆ What This Means
Candidates invited in this round will fall under Canada’s 2026 Permanent Residence plan.
Since the government has announced that economic immigration will be a major focus starting in 2026, we expect Express Entry and PNP draws to become more active and consistent moving forward.

Additionally, PNP allocations are anticipated to increase in 2026, offering a more promising outlook for those preparing for economic immigration pathways.

Ontario’s Skilled Trades Stream Suspended:

What You Need to Know Now — And the Alternatives That Still Exist

For many skilled workers hoping to build a new life in Ontario as carpenters, electricians, welders, cooks, or other trade professionals, the latest announcement came as a shock.
Applicants who created their Express Entry profiles and were eagerly waiting for a nomination under Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream (OINP) suddenly learned that the program has been suspended effective immediately.

Based on Ontario’s official announcement (November 14, 2025), here is what happened, why it matters, and what realistic pathways remain available.

1. Why the Sudden Suspension?

The Core Reason: Widespread Misrepresentation and Fraud

Ontario’s internal review revealed systemic misrepresentation and/or fraud within the Skilled Trades Stream—specifically around eligibility criteria.

Due to the scale of the issue, OINP concluded that it can no longer reliably verify whether applicants actually meet the program requirements.

This problem is further compounded by Ontario’s reduced nomination allocation for 2025, meaning the province must use its limited nominations carefully and responsibly.

Maintaining a program that cannot be credibly assessed was considered both inefficient and too risky. As a result, the stream has been shut down without delay.

2. What Happens to Current Applicants?

All pending applications will be returned

All application fees will be fully refunded

Applicants who already submitted their files will not be processed.
OINP will return every pending application and issue a full refund of the fees paid.

The suspension applies immediately, without transitional measures.

3. What Are the Alternatives?

Although this pathway has closed, skilled trades workers still have several viable options.

1) Federal Express Entry – Category-Based Selection: Trade Occupations

This is the closest alternative for those who previously qualified under the OINP Skilled Trades Stream.

  • Recent selection score for the trades category: 505 CRS
  • Recent CEC draws: 533 CRS
→ Category-based selection for trades tends to have lower CRS thresholds than general draws.

Eligibility summary:

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a qualifying trade within the past 3 years
  • Occupations include carpenters, electricians, welders, cooks, plumbers, and more
  • Only one round in 2024: 1,250 ITAs issued, CRS 505

Despite limited rounds, this remains an important federal pathway.

2) Other OINP Streams

Ontario encourages affected applicants to explore other streams for which they may qualify.
Note the structural difference between the two program types:

Express Entry-linked (Enhanced) Streams

  • Human Capital Priorities (HCP)
  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker

OINP EOI-based (Base) Streams

  • Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker
  • Employer Job Offer: International Student
  • Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills
  • Master’s Graduate
  • PhD Graduate

Eligibility and competitiveness vary by stream, so professional assessment is highly recommended.

3) PNP Programs in Other Provinces

Every province in Canada operates its own Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
If your strategy has been Ontario-focused until now, it may be worthwhile to:

  • Consider smaller cities or other provinces
  • Explore programs with lower CRS scores or targeted labor shortages
  • Reevaluate which region best aligns with your occupation and experience

Flexibility can significantly increase your chances.

Conclusion: A Time to Rethink Your Strategy

The shutdown of Ontario’s Skilled Trades Stream highlights the province’s effort to preserve the integrity of its immigration system. The program’s design made it vulnerable to large-scale misuse, and with limited nomination spaces, the province chose to take decisive action.

Across Canada, immigration programs continue to evolve quickly and—often—become more selective.

This is the moment to reassess your profile, understand where you are most competitive, and develop a targeted strategy that aligns with current immigration trends.

GS Consulting will continue to monitor these changes closely and help you identify the most realistic and effective pathway toward permanent residency in Canada.

At GS Consulting, we provide clear, strategic, and realistic immigration solutions tailored to this evolving environment.
