Following the federal election on April 28, the
Liberal Party retained power, and it appears that the immigration plans they
had previously set forth are continuing steadily.
As we enter May, Express Entry draws have now been
held two days in a row —
with Education occupations selected on May 1,
followed by Healthcare occupations on May 2.
📌 Summary of the May 2
Healthcare Draw:
• ✅ Cut-off Score: 510
• ✅ Number of ITAs Issued: 500
The cut-off remains very high,
especially considering that additional points for
job offers are no longer applied, and yet the threshold still reached 510.
This is likely due to two key factors:
• Only 500 ITAs were issued in this round,
• Healthcare occupations tend to attract
high-scoring candidates by nature.
This marks the first Healthcare-targeted draw of
the year,
just one day after the first Education-targeted
draw.
As major occupation-based draws are gradually
resuming,
we’ll need to carefully watch how often selections
for Education, Healthcare, and the highly anticipated Trades categories will
continue throughout the year.
