📢 EE Special Draw Alert! Massive ITA Issued for French Speakers! 🇫🇷

On October 29th, Express Entry (EE) conducted a major draw targeting French-Language Proficiency candidates.

A high number of ITAs were issued with a low score, emphasizing the critical importance of French language skills!

✅ October 29th Draw Results

  • Target: French-Language Proficiency
  • Cut-off Score: 416 points ⬅️ (Extremely Low!)
  • Number of ITAs Issued: 6,000 ⬅️ (Massive Draw!)

📊 French Category Now 44% of Total ITAs!

With today's draw, the total number of ITAs issued under the French Category in 2025 has reached 36,000, accounting for 44% of all ITAs issued this year.

👉 It's Time to Seriously Consider French!

📝 French-language Proficiency Requirements

  1. Meet EE Eligibility: Must meet the basic requirements of CEC, FSW, or FST.
  2. French Score: NCLC 7 or higher in all French language abilities is required.

If you meet the general EE requirements but your CRS score is low, we strongly recommend challenging the French language test! A new pathway awaits.

Summary Report: Debunking Myths and Policy Recommendations Regarding Canada's Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP)

🚨 Canada’s TFWP: Rhetoric vs. Reality đŸš¨

The Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) is vital for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) struggling with persistent labour shortages. However, recent restrictions implemented in 2024, such as the 10% cap on low-wage TFWs and the policy refusing to process Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications in certain CMAs, are threatening the ability of SMEs to deliver essential goods and services.

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) is challenging common misconceptions to protect this critical tool.

Original resource is the link below.

https://www.cfib-fcei.ca/en/media/reality-over-rhetoric-cfib-releases-new-report-challenging-five-myths-around-canadas-temporary-foreign-worker-program

🔍 Debunking the Top 5 Myths:

1. Myth: Businesses are "Addicted."

    ◦ Reality: TFWs make up barely 1% of the Canadian labour force. Hiring TFWs is highly regulated, costly, and typically done only as a last resort after exhausting all local recruitment options.

2. Myth: TFWs Steal Canadian Jobs.

    ◦ Reality: TFWs complement (not compete with) Canadian labour, filling critical gaps where local workers are unavailable or unwilling. 52% of small businesses using the TFWP reported that TFWs enabled them to continue employing Canadians.

3. Myth: TFWs Suppress Wages.

    ◦ Reality: 85% of TFWs are paid the same wage as Canadians. TFWP rules require employers to pay prevailing wages to ensure fair and competitive compensation. Non-wage factors (like the physically demanding nature of the work) often deter Canadian applicants more than low pay.

4. Myth: TFWs Strain Housing.

    ◦ Reality: Many TFWs work in construction or materials manufacturing, helping to ease supply shortages. Additionally, many TFWs live in rural areas or in employer-provided housing, meaning they are not competing for scarce housing in major urban centres.

📈 Long-Term Contribution:

TFWs are not just a short-term fix; they are essential for Canada’s future workforce. The proportion of former TFWs among new economic immigrants rose to 49% in 2022. Immigrants who were previously TFWs show high provincial retention rates (94% after one year).

📢 CFIB Policy Recommendations:

To solve chronic labour shortages and stabilize the economy, CFIB urges the government to:

• Reject blanket LMIA refusals and allow employers to make their case individually.

• Facilitate the retention of TFWs already in Canada by creating a pathway to Permanent Residency for lower-skilled workers.

• Lower administrative burden by streamlining the LMIA process.

LMIA applications in BC are experiencing DELAYS

Advertising on the Job Bank for at least one month is mandatory before submitting an LMIA application.
The primary advertising platform recognized by the government is the official Job Bank website.

Once an employer uploads a job posting to Job Bank, the designated officer reviews and approves it.
Only after this approval does the official posting date begin.

However, due to the BC General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) strike, job postings from British Columbia on Job Bank are currently not being published.
As a result, LMIA applications in BC are experiencing delays.

We ask all employers to understand this situation and to take extra care in managing their employees’ LMIA and work permit timelines, especially those based in British Columbia.

GS Consulting is closely monitoring the situation and maintaining daily communication with Job Bank to stay updated.

Although there are currently no alternative solutions, we continue to track updates from the government and advise employers to prepare accordingly.

High-Wage LMIA Approved in Just 2 Months! 🎉

We are pleased to share another LMIA approval under the High Wage stream — a case very similar to the one we announced yesterday.

Submission Date: August 21, 2025
Result Date: October 16, 2025 (Total processing time: 2 months)
Position: Restaurant Manager – NOC 60030
Stream: High Wage
Location: North Vancouver, BC

The case was processed at a wage rate of $36.60/hour.
Because the employer was able to clearly demonstrate the genuine need for a restaurant manager at that wage level and prove strong financial capability, the LMIA was approved without an interview.

As you know, LMIA assessments are becoming increasingly strict.
Throughout the process, we must prepare strategically — from ad design, content, and media selection to the application package and potential officer interview.

Every element must be consistent and logically aligned. Most importantly, the candidate’s career background and education must support the position.

We take great pride in this case, as it was approved without an interview in such a challenging environment.

The more difficult and complex the times, the more important it is to choose the right immigration consulting firm.

At GS Consulting, we continue to strive to provide a more structured and professional total solution for your immigration journey. ☎️
