Advertising on the Job Bank for at least one
month is mandatory before submitting an LMIA application.
The primary advertising platform recognized by the government is the official Job
Bank website.
Once an employer uploads a job posting to
Job Bank, the designated officer reviews and approves it.
Only after this approval does the official posting date begin.
However, due to the BC General Employees’
Union (BCGEU) strike, job postings from British Columbia on Job Bank are
currently not being published.
As a result, LMIA applications in BC are experiencing delays.
We ask all employers to understand this
situation and to take extra care in managing their employees’ LMIA and work
permit timelines, especially those based in British Columbia.
GS Consulting is closely
monitoring the situation and maintaining daily communication with Job Bank to
stay updated.
Although there are currently no alternative
solutions, we continue to track updates from the government and advise
employers to prepare accordingly.
