On November 13th, the BC PNP draw took
place!
The number of ITAs issued was the lowest
since BC PNP transitioned to a selection system, totaling only 29.
Due to low number of ITAs issued, the
passing score reached the highest ever.
The passing score for general skilled
positions (including Skilled Immigration, EEBC, and International Student
Stream) was 143 points.
For semi-skilled positions, the passing
score was 121 points.
With a total of 10 ITAs issued for skilled
worker streams.
ECE: 102 points, 5 ITAs issued
Health Care: 113 points, 5 ITAs issued
Construction: 105 points, 4 ITAs issued
Veterinary care: 80 points, less than 5
ITAs issued
A total of 29 ITAs were issued in this
draw.
It's difficult to predict the future
direction of BC PNP. Last year around this time, they issued ITAs more
aggressively, but this time they've significantly reduced the number. Based on
the current trend, it seems that this will be the general direction for the
rest of this year.
The following graph shows the trend of ITA
issuance since September:
The graph below shows the number of ITAs
issued by occupation in BC PNP selections so far this year:
Not only in BC but also in Alberta and
Manitoba, which recently started their draws, the passing scores are not easy
to achieve. For now, it seems the safest approach is to gain more education or
work experience in Canada while improving your language scores, and take
advantage of future opportunities.
