Another Strong Draw for Healthcare Workers

On November 20th, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted another Express Entry draw, this time targeting Healthcare Occupations. This marks the fourth consecutive business day of draws since last Friday (November 15th).

Key Highlights:

  • 3,000 ITAs Issued: A total of 3,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued in this latest draw, bringing the total number of ITAs issued for Healthcare Occupations in 2024 to three draws.
  • Cut-off Score: The cut-off score for this draw was 463.
  • Year-to-Date ITAs: A staggering 96,342 ITAs have been issued in Canada this year alone.
  • Ambitious 2025 Plans: IRCC has set an ambitious target of inviting 123,680 candidates through Express Entry in 2025, with a particular focus on candidates already in Canada and French-speaking individuals.

What Does This Mean for You?

If you're aiming for Canadian permanent residency through Express Entry in 2025, here are some key takeaways:

  • Gain Canadian Experience: Building your education and work experience in Canada will significantly boost your chances of success.
  • Improve Your French: While not mandatory for all programs, improving your French language proficiency, especially to NCLC level 7 or higher, can provide a competitive advantage.
  • Healthcare Occupations in Focus: The Healthcare Occupations category will continue to be a priority in 2025, with specific requirements for recent, full-time work experience in one of the 35 eligible occupations.

Key Requirements for Healthcare Occupations Category:

  • Meet Express Entry Eligibility: You must meet the eligibility criteria for either the Federal Skilled Worker (FSWP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
  • Recent Work Experience: At least six months of continuous, full-time work experience in one of the 35 eligible healthcare occupations within the past three years.

Looking Ahead

With Canada's continued focus on attracting skilled workers, especially in the healthcare sector, now is a great time to evaluate your immigration goals. For more detailed information on the specific occupations and eligibility criteria, please refer to the IRCC website:
