The IRCC has announced details about the new Caregiver Immigration Program (Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots) starting this year. However, we still need to wait a bit longer for more specific information.
Here are the details that have been
announced so far:
The start date is March 31st (no changes).
Language and education requirements remain
unchanged (CLB4, high school diploma or higher).
Experience (does not have to be Canadian
experience).
At least 6 months of recent relevant
experience (how recent is not specified yet).
Or
Completion of at least 6 months of related
home care training. (exact credentials required are not specified yet).
Must receive a full-time job offer outside
of Quebec.
Employer selection (this part is more
flexible than before).
Private households
Or
Organizations that directly hire hull-time
workers to provide short-term or occasional home care for those who are
semi-independent or recovering from an injury or illness.
However, recruitment-related companies are
not included.
At the bottom of the web page, there is a
kit to check eligibility requirements:
Is your language score CLB or NCLC 4 or
higher?
Do you have a high school diploma or higher
(education credential required)?
Do you have at least 6 months of relevant
experience or a certificate from a relevant educational institution?
Do you have a full-time job offer?
These are the four main requirements.
For candidates who are not yet working as
caregivers in Canada, do not prepare for this immigration program yet. Detailed
information for these candidates will be announced soon.
We recommend that those interested in this
immigration program continue to pay attention to announcements from the
immigration office.
